Monogrammed gift tags

Add a fun monogrammed gift tag to your gifts to show personalization! I just love the Festive Flurry Framelits, and the Bigz Typeset Alphabet dies for this quick and easy project. These tags can be as simple or as elaborate as you would like! I took the quick and easy route, and used a combination of Glimmer Paper, vellum, card stock, and Designer Series paper to make mine. I have a picture in my head of the addition of buttons, rhinestones, pearls, and itty bitty punched flowers; so cute!!

Chalkboard and a tag

While surfing Pinterest, I saw a cute card with a chalkboard background that caught my eye. The card, made by Kim Bell, was so simple, I just had to CASE it! Kim used a totally different stamp set, with an outlined image snowman stamp. I loved the look, but I only had a solid image snowman (of course). It always works like that, doesn't it? Well, I decided to make my solid image stamp an outlined image stamp, and I love how it turned out!

snow day stampin up tag

I used my Basic Black Stampin' Write marker to ink up the very outside of the image. I did the same with the carrot nose. I wanted the images to look hand drawn. For the chalkboard background I sponged Whisper White craft ink onto Basic Black card stock, and then stamped the snowflakes in the same ink.

Stampin' Supplies:

  • Stamp Set: Snow Day

  • Paper:

    • Whisper White card stock - 5 1/2" x 8 1/2", and 2" x 4"

    • Soft Sky card stock - 4" x 5 1/4"

    • Basic Black card stock - 3 3/4" x 5"

    • Crumb Cake card stock, scrap

  • Ink:

    • Whisper White craft ink

    • Basic Black Stampin' Write Marker

  • Tools and Accessories:

    • Big Shot Die Cutting Machine

    • Finishing Touches Edgelits

    • 1/8" hole punch

    • Baker's Twine

    • Linen Thread

Holiday glitter for Pink Paper Bakery

Today is my day to share a delicious paper confection at the Pink Paper Bakery. This card is deliciously sparkly!

'Tis the season for sparkles, right?! I pretty much love anything sparkly, glittery, or shiny (you get the idea). Let's face it, sparkly stuff just makes us happy! Although I do like bling, I don't like a lot of it in one place; I like to balance it out a little.

Ornament Keepsakes Stampin Up

I used Silver Glimmer Paper to glam up this card, and balanced it out with a lot of white space. Both of these ornaments are made with Tempting Turquoise ink. The smaller of the two is stamped off first, to lighten up the color. I love that this card is very clean, but still has a lot of impact. You've got to love the power of glitter!

Stampin' Supplies:

  • Stamps: Ornament Keepsakes, and Four the Holidays (retired)

  • Paper:

    • Whisper White card stock - 4 1/4" x 11", and 3 1/4" x 5 1/2"

    • Tempting Turquoise card stock - 3/4" x 5 1/2"

    • Silver Glimmer paper - 1" x 5 1/2", plus scraps for ornament tops and strings

  • Ink: Tempting Turquoise

  • Tools and Accessories:

    • Big Shot Die Cutting Machine

    • Holiday Ornaments Framelits dies

    • Scallop Trim Border punch

    • Rhinestone Basic Jewels

    • Stampin' Dimensionals

Honey-do

The new home card I made, last week, was a hit at my husband's office. My husband asked me if I would make a wedding card for another co-worker. Of course, I said yes! What paper crafter could turn down a honey-do request like that?! Like the last card, I made this extra large, with a 3 panel fold-out section on the inside, to accommodate a lot of good wishes.

Stampin Up Wedding

Let it snow

Let it snow is the new theme at SUO Challenges. I made a clean and simple, one layer, card for my SUO Design team entry. A clean look is definitely my thing, but I don't often do one layer cards. I love layers and embellishments, but I like to show that you don't have to have all that stuff to make a pretty card!

Endless Wishes stampin up

I CASEd this layout from a card I saw on Pinterest, made by Patricia Hayes. I love that you can achieve the look of an extra layer with simple masking and sponging! I used extra large Post-it notes and my Grid Paper to mask off a portion of the card. Stampin' Up!'s Grid Paper is such an awesome tool for keeping straight lines! I started by sponging Soft Sky over the entire area, and then sponged on Marina Mist around the edges. I used the new Endless Wishes Photopolymer stamp set and added the images with Marina Mist ink. I added a few pearls to dress it up.

Stampin' Supplies:

  • Stamps: Endless Wishes

  • Paper: Whisper White card stock - 5 1/2" x 8 1/2"

  • Ink: Soft Sky, and Marina Mist

  • Accessories: Pearl Basic Jewels

I love this simple, all occasion, layout. I'm sharing it, today, over at the Pink Paper Bakery! I made a masculine card  with this exact layout, earlier this year, and I thought I'd give it a go with Christmas colors.

I started with Season of Style Designer Series Paper, and pulled colors from the paper so everything would match perfectly. I love that I can do that with Stampin' Up!'s products!

Metal + Wood = Cool Masculine Card

My DH has a friend and coworker who just bought his first home. He asked me to make a congratulations card for everyone at work to sign. Unfortunately, I no longer have new home stamps, so I had to do a little web searching to help me out with an idea. I found a card, made by Mary Fish, that was similar to this, but smaller and feminine. With my husband's friend being a bachelor, the feminine scallops, flower, and butterfly paper was not going to work. So, I put a manly spin on her card.

new home card stampin up

First, I had to make it extra large, because so many people needed to sign it. The finished card size is 6" x 8 1/2". I used my retired Bigz Serif Alphabet dies to cut these letters from Brushed Silver card stock, and then glued them onto a piece of 3" x 8 1/2" piece of Natural Composition Specialty card stock. I used pewter brads to make the 'metal' letters look like they were riveted onto the 'wood'. Next I trimmed out the top and bottom with 1/4" strips of Basic Black card stock, and then glued it to my card base. I finished the card off with the word sweet, from Fabulous Phrases, on Very Vanilla card stock, and a trinket key (retired SU) added with a couple rolled up glue dots.

I was able to make an extra large envelope using the Envelope Punch Board. I did discover that the score line on the punch board is not long enough to accommodate the larger sizes of card stock. That was a bit frustrating. Fortunately, I have the Simply Scored Diagonal Plate, so I was able to finish the score lines on that.

Stampin' Supplies:

  • Stamps: Fabulous Phrases

  • Paper:

    • Basic Gray card stock - 8 1/2 x 12"; scored at 6" to create a 6" x 8 1/2" card base

    • Brushed Silver card stock

    • Natural Composition Specialty card stock - 3" x 8 1/2"

    • Basic Black card stock - 2 pieces 1/4" x 8 1/2"

    • Very Vanilla card stock, scrap

  • Ink: Basic Black

  • Tools and Accessories:

    • Big Shot Die Cutting Machine

    • Bigz Serif Essentials Alphabet dies (retired SU)

    • Pewter Brads (retired SU)

    • Trinket Key (retired SU)

    • Linen Thread

    • Stampin' Dimensionals (under the Vanilla banner)
