Modern Birthday Cake

Today I created a modern Birthday Cake card for my design team entry at SUO Challenges. Our new theme is birthday, so create something with a birthday theme, and come join the fun!

I'm one of those people who takes a little while to warm up to a new trend. I didn't used to be like that! I guess I'm starting to show my age. The chevron pattern is one of those trends that took me a while to like. Now, I love chevron patterns (she says as it goes out of style, lol)!  Thank goodness I can rely on some traditional looks, like the formal feel of black and white. For today's card, I gave the chevron patterned Birthday Cake stamp a bit of a formal look with black and white, but I threw a little splash of Coastal Cabana for fun!
