Papaya Collage Brick Wall

Yesterday, at my Stamp University class, I taught the brick wall technique. I absolutely love the look of this, and all my stamping friends did too! Creating a brick wall is pretty simple, but requires your full attention, and some organization. I think it's well worth it!

For this card, start with a 3” x 4” piece of Sahara Sand card stock.  Stamp images before cutting.
Cut as follows: First cut ½” strips (for your brick rows). Then starting with the first row, alternate ½” and 1” pieces. For the second row, cut 1" pieces. Alternate, until all your rows are cut.
It is very important to keep the pieces in order as you cut, so you are able to reassemble easily. Unless you like puzzles!!

Sponge all edges of all pieces with Sahara Sand ink. Be sure to continue to keep your pieces in order. Adhere them to another piece of 3" x 4" Sahara Sand card stock. You can adhere them as you sponge them, or you can sponge them all and then adhere them; just keep them in order! Leave some of the "bricks" out for a more realistic wall effect.
Trim excess card stock, from the areas of the missing bricks. You may need to use a craft knife to do this.

Adhere completed wall to a 3 1/4 x 4 1/4" piece of Very Vanilla card stock, using Stampin' Dimensionals. Then adhere to a card base; I used Baja Breeze.
I finished this card off with a few Baja Breeze flowers from the Itty Bitty Shapes Punch Pack, and a Baja Breeze butterfly from the Papaya Collage stamp set.
