I'm enjoying giving you these little sneak peeks! I have made a few cards using this free stamp set, and I have to say, Bloomin' Marvelous, is bloomin cute!

The vase is made using the large oval punch. I clipped off one side for the base, and punched the other side with the same punch. For the Birds, Birthday

The new year is nearly here. It's time (if you haven't already) to update your 2013 calendar with birthdays. For the Birds is such a cute stamp set, with sentiments for all occasions. This layout works great for all the images in the stamp set. I love that this stamp has a coordinating sentiment for the inside, with the words "it's your birthday".

Bold Brights are always a good bet for birthday card colors. I love that Stampin' Up! offers this matching Designer Series Paper and Brights Buttons. Everything matches, so I don't have to take the time to try to match up products. Simplicity at it's best!

The grass was made using the Scallop Edge Punch. I punched it several times without matching up the scallop design.

Ingredients:
  • Stamp Set: For the Birds (126405 wood/ 126407 clear)

Tag Card and Sneak Peeks!

Christmas day came and went so fast! Lots of prep and one or two days to sit back and enjoy it. I hope you all had a wonderful holiday, and that you get at least one more day to relax! I finally got back to stamping, after the holiday craziness! Just in time for a Create with Connie and Mary challenge!

The combination of a tag and a card is so fun, and pretty easy. Create a little small piece of art, and then put it on a bigger canvas! I find, working from small to large is the way to go.

There are a few sneak peaks in this card! A Sale-A-Bration stamp set, some new mini Designer Series Paper (Tea for Two), Ovals Collection Framelits, and the Primrose Petals Seam Binding and Vanilla rose are part of a really cool Artisan Embellishment Kit!

I got the tag creation idea from my talented sister, who is also a Stampin' Up! Demonstrator! She used a portion of a framelit to change the edges on her tag. I totally copied that idea, but changed out the framelit itself. I used the Labels Collection Framelits. I placed the top cutting plate so that only the top portion of the card stock would get cut.

Materials I used:
  • Stamp Set: Bloomin' Marvelous (129651 wood/ 129654 clear - available for free with a $50 order, January 22 - March 22)
  • Paper:
    • Crumb Cake card stock (120953) - 5 1/2" x 8 1/2"
    • Very Vanilla card stock (101650) - 1 7/8" x 4 1/4" , plus scrap for oval, scallop border, and stamped images.
    • Primrose Petals card stock (126841) - 1/4" x 4 1/4"
    • Tea for Two Designer Series Paper (129311 - available Jan 3) - 4 1/4" x 4 1/4",  and 3/4" x 1 7/8"
  • Ink: Primrose Petals (126858), Soft Suede (126978 - for sponging the edges)
  • Embellishments:
    • Artisan Embellishments Kit (129328 - available Jan 3)
    • Linen Thread (104199)
    • Pearl Basic Jewels (119247)
  • Tools:
    • Big Shot Die-Cutting Machine (113439)
    • Adorning Accents Edgelits (125595)
    • Labels Collection Framelits (125598)
    • Ovals Collection Framelits (129381 - available Jan 3)
    • 3/16" Corner Rounder Punch (119871)
    • 1/8" Hole Punch
    • 1/2" Hole Punch (119869)

Relaxing with MDS2

Let me paint a wonderful picture for you. Tonight, I'm unwinding....ahhh, it feels so good! This time of year is crazy, so I gave myself the night off. It's so quiet in my home (I know some of you are jealous!); my boys (DH & DS) are off playing video games, and I'm sitting in my chaise, in the dark, by the lighted Christmas tree, running MDS2 on my laptop!

I just can't get enough of the Sale-A-Bration digital downloads. This card features the Patterned Occasions brush set (digital) and the Sycamore Street embellishments, both are digital, but these will also be available to have and to hold in your crafty little hands. Yes! Real life stuff! Stamps, ribbons, and buttons, all available for free during Sale-A-Bration, with a qualifying order!

The Clearance Rack Blitz is still going on. Lots of good stuff still available, with awesome prices. Retired stamp sets, dies, ribbons, punches, Designer Series Paper, and more!

Last Minute Gift Idea

Looking for last minute gift ideas? Print off some cute note cards using My Digital Studio 2! My son has a favorite teacher, who he wanted to give a gift to. Note: My son is in high school, and a boy! That is just not normal! Anyway, since this teacher is so special to him, I wanted to create a custom made gift for her!

What I loved about making this set of cards, was how easy it was! I was able to print them off on my printer, and quickly change the color of the flower in between printing. This allowed me to create a colorful set of cards with just a couple of clicks!

I printed right from the MDS2 program, without exporting the project, onto Whisper White card stock. I trimmed them up and mounted them on coordinating card stock.

This brush set is from the Sale-A-Bration digital download disc, which includes all the content from the SAB catalog! It will be available for free (with a minimum of a $50 purchase), January 24th!

If you haven't yet checked out My Digital Studio 2, download the 30 day trial version and see what you are missing! You can purchase additional download content with the trial version, that you will be able to keep if you decide to purchase the full version. I highly recommend My Digital Studio 2+, which contains $500 worth of digital download content.

Papaya Collage

Papaya Collage...so pretty! I haven't had it out for a while, and I thought it was time. I'm still working on the vintage look. I think I semi achieved it here. I have a hard time putting a lot of images and items together on my artwork. I think vintage sorta requires that, plus some sponging and spritzing!

This DSP, called Tea for Two, will be available in the new mini catalog. I have a thing for grid paper, so I was excited to see this piece of gridded Baja Breeze (is gridded even a word? It is today!). I stamped the leaf image with Versamark, and used white embossing powder to make the images stand out.

I stamped and cut out my images, and then sponged everything with Soft Suede, before assembling the card. Last, I used the Spritzer Tool with a Soft Suede Stampin' Write Marker, and gave it a few good spritzes.

Materials:
  • Stamps: Papaya Collage (126610 wood/ 126612 clear) and Sweet Essentials (126455 wood/ 126457 clear)
  • Paper:
    • Whisper White card stock (100730) - 5 1/2" x 8 1/2", plus extra for the images
    • Tea for Two Designer Series Paper (129311 - available Jan 3) - 4" x 5 1/4"
  • Ink: Soft Suede (126978) and Baja Breeze (126960), Soft Suede Stampin' Write Marker
  • Accessories: Crumb Cake Seam Binding ribbon (122332) and Basic Pearl Jewels (119247)
  • Tools: Color Spritzer Tool (107066), Stamping Sponges (101610)

Everything Eleanor Color Challenge

I love a good challenge! Create with Connie and Mary has a gorgeous color challenge this week, and I couldn't wait to get started when I saw it last Thursday. I had one set back, I didn't have any Champagne Glimmer paper! Yikes! My silly sister told my I was going to have to sit this one out...I don't think so! LOL! Lucky for me, my awesome upline lives around the corner, so I swiped a bit of it from her.

After I had my design, and before I adhered everything together. I cut a rectangle from the inside of the Glimmer paper layer. I don't like to waste, and nobody will know. Shhh!

First I stamped the swirly image from Everything Eleanor (love this set!). I inked it up first with a Versamark pad, then used a sponge dauber to add Champagne Mist Shimmer Paint. I then stamped the image, added clear embossing powder and heat set it. It looks so much prettier in person!

The flower is made using the Scallop Circle punch. I clipped every other petal, and then curled them toward the center. I stacked two of these and fluffed them up. The flower center is a Very Vanilla button, topped with a 1/2" circle of Champagne Mist Glimmer Paper.

The little butterflies were a challenge. The Glimmer paper was a bit too thick for the Beautiful Wings Embosslit. I peeled off a layer of the backing, then sent it through the Big Shot again. Worked like a charm!

 Materials:
  • Stamps: Everything Eleanor (124162 wood/ 124164 clear)
  • Paper:
    • Very Vanilla card stock (101650) - 5 1/2" x 8 1/2", and 3 3/4" x 5"
    • Champagne Glimmer Paper - (127885) - 3 7/8" x 5 1/8"
  • Ink: Versamark (102283), and Champagne Mist Shimmer Paint (116806)
  • Embellishments:
    • Pearl Basic Jewels (119247)
    • Neutrals Designer Buttons (119743)
  • Tools:
    • 1 3/4" Scallop Circle Punch (119854)
    • 1/2" Circle Punch (119869)

Pleasant Poppies, Pleasantly Quick!

Here is a quick card for you, and so simple! Pleasant Poppies is such a pretty stamp all by itself, it doesn't need much to dress it up! For this card, I cut my card base from Whisper White card stock. Then I scored it 1/2" from the bottom, every 1/8". Then I used a large Post-it note and masked very close to the top score line, before stamping my image. The edge turned out very clean, but I wanted to add a little color with very little work. I finished off my card with a Real Red button and matching 1/8" Taffeta ribbon.

Materials:

  • Stamps: Pleasant Poppies (126480 wood/ 129499 clear)
  • Paper: Whisper White card stock (100730) - 5 1/2" x 8 1/2"
  • Ink: Basic Black (126980)
  • Embellishments:
    • 1/8" Real Red Taffeta Ribbon (119251)
    • Brights Designer Buttons (119747)
